High Flow cats on 3rd gens

Has anyone put a high flow cat on your 3rd gen prefferebly the dual catted 3rd gen. I went to the muffler shop for my friend because he was getting some work done, and this i beieve a 02 tacoma with dual cats came in to get a high flow cat welded to replace the 2nd cat. I notice he doesnt have o2 sensor after the 2nd cat and i kept on telling him he would throw a code, well he got it welded on and has no codes as claimed, and he also claims he's getting much improve performance would this be a well worth upgrade for 40 bucks.

$40? Let me know where you find one for that! The best I have seen is in the $60 range with free shipping on ebay, and that doesn't include installation of course. I would think you would be out $125 or so total.

That's strange he didn't throw a code. Are you sure the 2nd 02 sensor was gone?

If you are wondering if it would make a big difference on a N/A 3.4, well, I have heard mixed reviews. I have yet to see someone dyno before and after though, so all claims have been hearsay.

Have you thought about going with that lighter crank pulley from URD?
