This kit I've been using and selling is great. Just got pics from a 2005 4Runner. I will have to work on getting them posted. The quality of the kit is 1st rate, and I searched for months on a good kit to offer.

Alright. I installed the harness last night and all i can say is WOW. I bought the sylvania silverstars, and those were bright. but then i installed the harness and it's amazing. I cant wait to install my fog lights that i got at pep boys for 20 bucks.

Oh ya, and as far as that harness goes, with the stock harness i got 11.46 volts to the driver side headlight. now with the new harness im getting about 12.25 volts

Sounds like a good result, based upon the voltage increase, you are getting about 30% more light out of the existing lamps.

2005 4runner.

This customer had the brightest silverstar bulbs already in there, and these pics show just how much brighter cleaner these hid's are.

More pics on the site.

They are rediculous! I have a couple examples. I was driving the other morning and i had my lights on. I could see my lights on the ground when i tunred them on an off, while the sun was out. Last night i drove down to this lake, and while turning around, my lights heads were aimed at the lake and i could see fish in the lake a few feet down. Yes, the lights are pretty pricey, and yes i was kind of nervous spending so mcuh on headlight bulbs, but when you get them installed, i feel its worth it. It also kinda of sounds like a bad deal that you dont get high beams, but you don't even need them. All in all these lights make your truck very noticeable while giving off more light. If you're thinkin about getting them or if you're just curious and want to check them out, visit burtman industries.com and enter in what kind of car you have. I got the 6000K for my 1997 4runner Ltd. There are 4 different colors to choose from.

Talk to me if ya got any questiong

-Billy

holy glare batman, you will blind the f out of everyone without a shield that blocks the light from reflecting upwards. the stock halogen has a shield on it, and halogen is not as harsh of a light source, at the very least use casper shields, and if you care about others on the road, modify them to cut out any light that reflects upward. if you can see the capsul of the bulb from the front of the headlight housing, than that is light escaping into glare. the casper shield will not affect useable light output, it will block the light that strays into the trees and into other peoples eyes. this is the very reason why the US DOT banned hid retros, they are not designed to go into a halogen reflector.
I am not meaning to go off or upset anyone, but it is dangerous to other drivers on the road. and for those that dont care, if you blind an oncomming car, there is a real possibiity of that driver vearing into the oncoming lane and hitting you head on.
if you are not able to retro in a true hid projector or HID based reflector (ie g35 nissan altima ect...) then at the very least shield it properly.

search on www.hidplanet.com/forums there is a plethora of useful information. or PM me, i have responded to several people already about hid lighting....

sorry to rant...

here is a picture of a properly shielded modded casper shield for an H4 setup:

thats the idea really. the shield blocks all light that is not useful/glaring

I'd like to put HIDs in my truck, but I already get flashed with my stock lights.

It does seem like my lights are much brighter than other trucks of similar years, so maybe the previous owner upgraded them before he sold it.

no offense, but i did my retrofit for just about what that kit costs. the light that is actually visible on the ground with the kits that i've seen has been terrible compared to oem or retro setups.

I got my HID kit from Jason. Those lights are awesome. High output and virtually no glare. I have them for a year and I wasn't flashed even once. The bulb is designed that the actual arc inside the HID bulb is exactly at the same place as the spiral in halogen bulb.

$350 for a non-retro HID kit? Unbelievable. Can't believe people will pay that. There's a company on Honda Tech that will do complete retros with TSX projectors and ballasts for about $150 more...

Anyway, if you're just going to buy a run of the mill "bolt" in kit, these aren't a bad deal.

Comes with a relay harness, too. The guy is based here Phoenix and is pretty knowledgeable about any install issues you may have. I'm certainly happy with the kit.

For some reason, he offers his kits for $185 p/u in Phoenix, and $170 shipped on this Scion website:

What do you do about high beams?

They offer a bulb with an HID low-beam and a halogen high-beam. Kind of ghetto, but it works reliably and the wiring isn't too difficult.

So I assume you're not running any sort of projector housing, correct? Any pics of your setup?
