Exclamation Help!!! Weird "squeeling" Coming From Inside My 4-runner!!!

HELP, THE NOISE IS DRIVING ME NUTS!!!!!!!

It almost sounds like it's coming from a belt inside my dash that powers the fans for the air. It comes on when I hit 60 or 70 mph and goes away when I stop, but once it starts, it starts again around 30mph.

HAS ANYONE HEARD OF THIS BEFORE?????????

I don't think there is any belts in your dash. Have you looked at your belts lately? Or when was the last time you changed your belts. I hope you changed them when you got your timing belt maintenance.

It's not a noise coming from inside my motor. It literally sounds like it's coming from behind the dash, behind one of the fan vents. Am I going nuts??? I can't figure it out!! :pat:

Getcha a piece of flexible hose and make a stethoscope. Stick it down your vent until you can pinpoint the area of the noise then tear into your dash and fix it. And no there aren't any belts behind your dash. Might be the bearing in your blower motor or something. Can you provide more details.. does it do it only with the AC on? Only with the blower on? If it truly is something behind the dash then whatever speed your going shouldn't really matter. It may be something in the drivetrain or engine that just sounds like it's coming from behind the dash.

No, it doesn't matter if I have the AC on or not. It doesn't even matter if I have the fan on either! Thank though, I'll have to tear into the dash then or check everything under my hood!
