My 98 Surf has just tossed me a curveball and myself and mechanic are struggling to find the solution. There is an electrical issue and now the a/c/blower is not working, the power windows aren't working and the gauge panel is not working either. Any ideas? All fuses are ok.
The week prior, we did have to jump start it a few times because something is pulling on the battery overnight. I believe it is the aftermarket security system. This may or may not be related.

This might be a stupid question, but do you have a wiring diagram for your vehicle? Or is your mechanic standing there with an impact wrench not knowing what to do with it?

 

Sounds like you've definitely got a short somewhere. I would double check all of the fuses and then put a voltmeter to any of the three things that are not working. Maybe a higher amp fuse was used to replace one that was popping all the time due to a short and now all the power is being eaten up by the short.
