I own a 1996 3rd Generation Toyota Hilux Surf, which is the same as a 3rd Generation 4Runner but imported from Japan & fitted with a 3.0TD engine.

I would like to purchase a new Genuine Toyota grey roller blind tonneau cover for the cargo area as an accessory as I don't have any of the brackets etc.

My local Toyota dealer here in England claim that they cannot get part numbers for accessories for imports. I then asked if they can order me the tonneau & fixings seperatly, & I was told no because my chassis number states that it was not fitted to my vehicle for that year. I told the parts department why don't they look it up under a later vehicle, & he replied that he needs a chassis number for that!!!

Does anyone have access to a Toyota electronic parts catalogue for US spec vehicles & would be kind enough to get me the part number for a tonneau cover kit in grey or seperatly with brackets & fixings.

Does anyone also know that when fitting this cover, do you just drill holes in the trim for the brackets or is this cover really only for later vehicles as maybe the later vehicles have different interior trim in the cargo area.

I would like to say that this forum is excellent & is full of information on 3rd Generations, in England it tends to be more 2nd Gens.
