HELP getting off ROAD TAR!!!!

I must have gone through some construction over the weekend and my baby is smothered in road tar. What do I use to get is off without hurting the paint?

BTW I already did a search and didn't find anything.

Tank you tank you so so much

I don't remember the brand-----it's a yellow can with a black top---bug and tar remover--works great. I used it on my Cobra numerous times and it didnt hurt the paint one bit---just make sure your car is cool and you follow the directions. Rinse it off completely after letting it sit for about 30 seconds.

Try using 3M adhesive remover or maybe clay. I've used that at work and it worked really well.

solvent and/or gas will do the trick, just dont let them sit more than a few minutes, and make sure to wax. At least thats what i use as a car-wash boy by occupation.

I've used 3M adhesive remover but you gotta be careful and used minimal rubbing or it does start to scuff the clear coat.

Claying works "ok" I would probably use something more abrasive like wd-40 or something and then clay and wax...If you dont want to wax it I wouldn't use any of these chemicals.

Try mineral spirits first, then WD-40 or Goo Gone. I used mineral spirits for years to remove pine tree sap. Wash after to remove the mineral spirits then wax.

Is that the same stuff that you can use to clean the engine bay? I've been lookin around and thats the only stuff I have found...

Sorry for hijacking,

WD40 or Goo Gone will work wonders!

Fink

EDIT: I feel like a dumba$$...after reading about 2 pages into the Simple Green website I found out that "Engine Degreasing/Cleaning" is listed...wow...I need more sleep!

Not to jack this post but on a similar note how can I get off the leftover adhesive from the factory stickers?? I've tried adhesive remover but it didn't do much and I probably spent a good two hours on it. Anything better out there??

Thanks

Well, I hate to keep repeating myself but WD40 works really well on that, too. I used WD40 to remove the adhesive that was left on my 4Runner after I removed the Gold Emblem package. I also use it to get gum out of clothing.
