Help with door handle replacement

I'm trying to replace the outside door handle on the rear passenger door on a '99 Limited.

How the heck do you get to the second bolt?!?!

And is the rod held in with Superman's thoughts?!?!

I've popped the clip that secures the rod but damn if it won't come unhooked from the handle.

HELP

I have the how-to with pics in my build thread...off to get you a link.
In short, remove the latching mechanism to access that stinker bolt.

Here's part of it:

After pulling the door handle out for access from the front and lifting the keeper I had to very gently use a pair of pliers to convince the rod out.

Thanks Hab, I didn't realize I had to remove the lock assembly too. I thought I could get the handle out alone.
