I was working today on a new mod that will shut the power off to the solenoid box for my winch so kids can't mess with it. Write-up coming later this week
Anyway, as I was tightening back up the positive accessory stud (not the main one that holds it to the positive terminal) the nut stripped and the stud now spins.
My rig won't start of course because the starter wire goes to the other part that broke.
My alarm at least works.
Here is a
pic.
Is this part readily available at any auto parts store? Or it is a custom one I wonder made for the Les Schwab gel cell battery?
Kind of a bummber being with out a rig on a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon
Thanks, Corey

That bites...looks like you need a taller stud for all them accessories.
I have a magic box that most gearheads have in their garage. It's a plastic bin that any misc. screws, nuts, washers and any fastener goes. It's full of stuff and it almost always has what I need to do a job. Since that stud is stripped I would try and find a smaller nut, and jam that thing on. Or if you have a tap and die handy, retap and use the corect sized nut. Good luck.

Thanks guy's, I got it fixed.
All I did was dig around in an old tool box of mine and found a nut that was close to the same size.
I had to move two of those wires up to the stud that holds that clamp to the huge positive terminal that juts out of the battery.
I got the Warn 2 gauge wire back onto the back where the circle is in the picture.
I am a candidate for one of those Painless Wiring boxes as I have about 8 things going to the positive terminal such as all 3 sets of my lamps, horns, Warn winch, etc.
One of those Painless boxes would free up those studs for sure.
The nut I used seems to be holding for now, and the rig started right up with a good solid connection.
I am going to replace that part later, and will look around tomorrow, or try and order one like you have Shane, then get that Painless kit.
Oh, the Warn thing I hooked up today is here.
Now some punk can't come by and insert a paper clip into the Warn solenoid box and take my cable and pull it over the roof and hook it to the rear shackle and slice my rig in two
The switch must be turned on in the cab to activate another solenoid that powers up the Warn solenoid.
You guy's tat are able to put the Warn solenoid under the hood are lucky they fit under there.
No room with the V6.

Thanks for the link Shane.
I've been meaning to get some of those so I can move the winch pwr cables from the side terminals to the top terminals of my battery. Just ordered a pair of 'em since shipping is free.

Alright er..aiight Corey!
I see you have a magic box too eh...now what is this Painless Wireing box you speak of. I am very familiar with their complete rewireing harness kits for street rods and muscle cars...but whats this box? I am curious...painless
(or YELLOW...for you guys old enough to know) :beaver:

Corey, that does really suck, but I am glad that you did get it fixed and everything is ok. I need a new battery soon I think and I was just wondering what would be a good one to get! :beaver:
