Help! battary got hooked up backwards

My Dad was fooling around the other night switching battaries between my truck and his tractor and inadvertantly hooked up the battary backwards. He felt bad about it and I didnt give him a hard time since it was dark outside.

Anyways, I blew the ignition fuse, we replace it. Now the engine will turnover but I'm not getting any spark. What could be causing this? A bad coil?

Have fun with that one...

I did that to my 98 4 months ago... Lucky for me it was just fuses. Though the main fuse melted its self around the post inside the fuse box

Plain old coil. get it off of the tractor!

$0.00 go steal the coil off of your Dad's tractor (if it is a 12V gas unit.) It is a plain old cylindrical coil. nothing fancy. Nevermind if the tractor is a diesel

PS. I remember jumping the Ford 8N (6v) off the truck. Spins pretty fast, but the starter would stay engaged. You had to hit the starter with a hammer to get it to disengage.

Wow, you're like the third person here to do that this year. I know, because I'm one of them.
I replaced the 80 amp fuse, EFI and assorted orther meltetd bits. Don't forget to reset the switches located under the driver side of the dash. These are some sort of fuel system relays and you need to press the switch to reset.
