Anyway to check the injectors without having to take it into a mechanic? I have the multi meter, but whats the FSM? I do mostly work on sound systems, and nto engines. Any tips on how to cure this? Im thinking just buy new injectors right. If thats the solution, I'll give URD a call. Thanks for the help guys, I cant belive people are nice enough to share this kind of info for free. Not the dealer rate of $100 per hour

I mean this as a Yotatech friend. Stop throwing money at parts and start diagnosing the problem. Any Joe Shmoe could come on here and tell you to get new injectors, etc. The bottom line, like some have mentioned, is to throw some real troubleshooting skills at your motor and narrow down this problem.

Sounds like you have a background in electronics. Perfect. You can use the multi-meter with the best of them while using your new FSM as a reference guide.

We will be here to walk you through it.

Did you check you battery and have it tested? How old is it? Is there any corrosion on the terminals. Is the problem worse when you have you headlights on, windshield wipers going, radio up loud and vent on? If it, it sounds like something with the alternator or battery then. The only two reasons I could think that would make one of the belts squeal are one they are too lose or two, something is not rotating as fast as the belt is try to make it go, ie alternator locking up.

Best of luck with it.

Christian is dead right....we can make suggestions on parts replacement all day but in the end you will be much better off to get a FSM and go through a step by step diagnosis of what is going on with your engine. Until you do that you will just be shooting in the dark with the hope for a fix. The dealer will just be using a FSM for diagnosis as well and if you already know how to use a multimeter, you are way ahead of the game.

It could be many things at this point so it will be up to you to eliminate them one by one, but I highly suggest getting a FSM or Haynes at the very least.

I know where to get the Haynes, but where can I get the FSM? Thanks for the input. As for the battery, its a optima blue top 6 months old. The voltage is fine once the engine is going. It sits between 13.9 to about 14.3 on average. But on starts it drops down into the 9's.

Its only during the crank period, other wise it sits at 12.5 to 12.6 when the acessoires are on. I called around yesterday during work (dont tell my boss) and found a place to diagnostic the truck for $65 and if it is the injectors they said they replace them for $168 for all 6. Starts been okay after I cleaned the MAF, it only did not start once in the past few days. Thats when I drover over to checkers, to buy a Filter rechage kit. I cranked it and reved it a few times and it was fine. but I hope I can get a appoinment to diagnostic soon
