Hello All,
New to the board and wanted to say hello.

I have a 98 SR5 4x4 that I'm selling to move up to a 01 4x4. Wondering why nobody has a Donahoe Racing lift in their rig?

I have a set of Donahoes that I'm taking off my 02 Prerunner to put on my 4Runner. I know that Donahoe doesn't make a rear lift so I was going to go with Downey's 2.5 rear coils. Then probably throw on some Bilstein rear shocks.
I notice everyone is running something different, any particular reasons why.

First, welcome to Yotatech. Second, people run what they can afford, what a local shop recommends, or what their buddies run. I have never heard of Donahoes and the fact that they don't make a rear lift explains why no one here uses them. Bilstiens are the most popular shocks but I went with ranchos because of cost, same with OME coils over Downeys. I am very happy with both. Good luck with what ever you decide.

Donahoes just came out for the kit for the tacomas last year right? I know the guys on TTORA are switching from SAWs to Donahoes. But there was a vender here (Mike) who got everyone a sweet deal on SAWs, so thats what pretty much everyone runs up front.

Donahoe does indeed have some great stuff but their price point is abit too high for a majority if users here. There are a few that has em but it's rare. Also just as rare are King Coilovers too..

If you're looking into using your existing Donahoes and need something for the rear, you might want to look into some OME's as the Downey coils are prone to sagging.

Reasons why people run different setup due to what their back pocket can allow. Also some members here are just here to lift the truck and not use it on the trail as much so getting expensive suspension parts are not a high priority. You will notice that those that do offroad alot will invest abit more on their suspension parts than those that don't.

For coilovers, SAW's are popular as Mike at Xtreme Offroad had a group buy not too long ago. He has group buys here on special occasions so people usually jump in on deals then.

I agree with you on th wallet being limited. I got my Donahoe's thru a group buy also. $750 for the set. And they are AWESOME... But the D-Cab must go.
Thanks for the heads up on the Downey's I had no idea about the sagging. I have the Performance Products springs in my 98 4runner with Bilsteins all the way around. It rides great with that set-up. (I'm going to sell it with that set-up in it also)
Looking to get an updated 00 or 01 4Runner, one has a S/C one doesn't. With gas prices above $2.50 a gal for premium, I think the S/C will not likely be the way to go. But w'ell see..
