Heated side mirror glass replacement part

I have searched and I am gettting conflicting information.

I have a 2000 4Runner SR-5 with the heated side mirrors. Today someone swerved into my lane and luckily we only slapped mirrors. The glass shattered on the right hand side, but the rest of the mirror is fine.

I am trying to find a part number for the heated glass with the backing plate. I can only find part number 879313D020 but I cannot find any information if this is the heated mirror part that includes the backing plate, element, and mirror...or just the glass. Or do I have to remove the glass and put new glass back on the backing plate and somehow preserve the element. The glass is stuck on very well and I don't see getting it off cleanly without tearing up the heater.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. One thread stated a part number, but when I search for that part number, it doesn't say it fits my vehicle.

Have you checked any of the online Toyota Parts dealers ??

Your local dealer in person ??

Sometimes figuring out Toyota`s parts catalog can be interesting

Yes, checked many online. The only part number I found is the one I posted above. I usually use the online guys that are at Toyota of Grapevine here in Texas. All are showing one part number, with basically no description. For my Sequoia it specifies heated or not, for the 4runner it doesn't unless you are buying the whole mirror. The parts descriptions are terrible and seem to be universal accross dealerships from what I am finding.

I will email them, they were closed as of last night. Oh and my local dealer in person is not an option, they are complete morons. Every time I have gone to them they have ordered me the wrong part, despite having my vin and me specifically telling them "I need an automatic attenna mast, not the manual" "I need the headlight from a 2000 it is clear, not the '98 which is not clear"

It's almost comical...

To bad about your local dealer mine is great.

I have more problems online so I gave up trying to order parts that way

You might only be able to get the heated mirror complete

Have you checked Car Part.com for a used one??

Well, you may be interested in this item I quickly found on Amazon. It's not OEM, but it clearly IS what you are looking for, and states that the part listed is a substitute for the p/n you provided. It even includes the installation manual. This suggests that the OEM part with that p/n is also what you want, but no guarantee, obviously.

https://www.amazon.com/Dorman-56424-...=1&*entries*=0

Or just buy this and save a few bucks. It's just a mirror.

Thanks for the info...I did speak with Toyota of Grapevine today and they say the part number I had is the heated one with the backing plate...so I ordered it. I had seen the Amazon model too, it was my next choice if they are wrong.

I actually got the OEM mirror cheaper than the amazon mirror.
