Does anyone know if headers other than The TRD manufactured ones are worth a damn? I found some for 300 dollars, a lot more reasonable than 700+ for the TRD.

 

I would have to say that quality wise the TRD headers are on top of the food chain. Downey makes some cheaper headers but the quality is not as good.

 

I'm running Edlebrocks on mine. They sound/feel good so far.
I think they were just under $400.

 

I wonder why they never pressed ahead and designed any for 1999+ 4Runners?

 

What's the difference?
Are the stock pipes shaped different?

Only regret that I have with these headers is that I didn't get them ceramic coated.
That may be remedied in the future.

Anyone know how hard it is to wrap headers while on the engine?

 

Has anyone here had custom headers made? If so, what was the cost?
