Hays clutch

Does anybody have experience with Hays clutches in a Toyota. Thinking about puting one in my 89 22RE.

Summit sells them for $144.

Also, if I get a flywheel off a V6 or 92+ 4 cylinder can I use the larger diameter clutch?

$144?? Is there something special about Hayes?

I picked up a Borg Warner clutch kit for $114 at the corner parts store!

I thought the hays was supposed to be a little better quality than some. After doing some research, it sounds like OEM is the way to go.

Anybody know a good place to find a 93-95 4 cyl 4x4 flywheel?

could always check the junkyard, or get sneaky and go to a parts store like schmucks, buy a later model flywheel and give them yours for the core. most of the time they won't catch you.

i run an exedy clutch on my truck and so far, it's great. i paid $60 + shipping on ebay, totalled out to be about $80. it's got the springs rather than the cheesy rubber blocks that some clutches(even some OEM toyota ones) have that harden over time and lose their shock absorption capabilities.
