Hayden 679 tranny cooler question

I couldn't find the answer to this while searching various websites, and it may be a dumb question, but I'm about to install a hayden 679 in my 97 4runner. I'm bypassing the stock cooler completely. My only question is does it matter which hoses from the tranny (send/receive) I connect to the cooler fittings? I thought the fluid would have to flow a certain direction in the cooler, but maybe I'm wrong?

Thanks

Fluid will flow either direction no problem.

Ideally you want the cooler mounted sideways with the fluid flowing in at the top and out at the bottom. But it will work in any config.
