3.4L TPS only at 75% at WOT!?
I noticed while using the OTC OBDII scan tool from Cornwell that my TPS is only registering 75% while at WOT. Is this the correct value? I figued it would be a linear rate...0%-100%. It reads the same weather I'm driving at WOT or with the Key On Engine Off (in ACC) and floor it. What are you other guys seeing and does anyone know what we should see? THANKS!

I did the same thing last summer and had similar results, when I asked then I had a couple of people confirm that this is normal. In fact if you have access to the FSM it describes exactly what the acceptable limits for no throttle input and WOT are. I can't recall exactly but somewhere around 9-15% and 71-82% respectively. I think...

(well there ya' go John... I was wrong!)
John had asked me this in a PM and I suggested that he ask it in the forum 'cause I wasn't sure. Good thing, 'cause I was leaning on the side that something was messed up.

Dude... I already had the SC in that pic - the first jump was PLENTY high.
(oh wait... you know this from the other thread... n/m!)

Yeah, I am pretty sure that jump was high, looks high in the pics! I wish I was there to see it in real life, whew!
About the TPS thing (so I would actually be productive in this thread), I think it's because the throttle is at 100%, but the TPS is only at 75% because it could go more if it's attached to a different car and whanot.

No throttle = 8% - 20%
WOT = 64% - 96%
Pretty wide acceptable ranges!

Thanks alot guys, according to the FSM it makes sense, since the closed throttle value is essentially making up the difference @ WOT.
GSGALLANT, you need to get movin' on your dual batt setup...I'd love one but can't find the space with my current setup! Thanks again.

For reference, my 1995 Tacoma hardcopy FSM for 5vz-fe (3.4L) says:
No throttle = 7% - 11%
WOT = 65% - 75%
Voltage output of TPS calculated as a percentage of: 0V = 0%, 5V = 100%
No throttle = 7% - 11%
WOT = 65% - 75%
Voltage output of TPS calculated as a percentage of: 0V = 0%, 5V = 100%
