hard to get into gear, tranny fluid?

hard to get into gear, tranny fluid?

my 88 4runner 5sp is kind of hard to get it into gear, it goes in gear and works fine, its just a too stiff. could this be old tranny fluid?

Probably not, but if you want to change it it's easy to do. Redline MT-90 is supposed to work well in 5 spd gearboxes. You might also try changing the shifter seat and bushing. It's cheap and easy too.

is it pretty cold outside yet? I noticed that it is like that until i get the gear oil warmed up.

nope its not cold yet, thats why i want to fix it before it gets cold and then its extra hard. thanks for the info
