yeah hanneman has pics of the tundra conversion also... i dont want to go that route as the tundra one is about a foot wider than my truck and it will look dorky, but i would like to see the taco conversion as the general dimension should be close

This is the only truck I've seen with a tacoma conversion.

DEATHRUNNER! YOU ARE T3H MAN

whos truck is that? that is awesome... hmmm... might really consider doing that now... my truck does need a new bed afterall, and the front could use an update.....
it actually looks liek a taco, 10 years newer than what it actually is......

if i get that (probably like $1k) it will be after a bunch of engine stuff i need to do though......

I got that off of www.ESBfabrication.com

A couple things to consider.....It might work with the stock grille, or it might require some custom fitment of tacome lights and grille. You're gonna have to get the hood and pin it.

Looks pretty cool, though, well....it could, looks like that guy half-assed it.

That will make your truck quite a bit lighter, I imagine. Maybe make it a little peppier too. Is your bed smashed up? If you get a new bed and put these sides on, you'll be doing allright. I wonder if it lines up with the stock gate, or if you can get a tacoma gate in there.....or even a whole tacoma bed.......hmmmmmm

yeah my bed is pretty smashed up... not sure what im going to do at this point... i installed trailer lights and tried to get it inspected, they said as there is holes in the bed for real lights they wont pass it off..... one place said even as the lights are used carry dot stamps, that they are only allowed if the body has no place to mount lights.... if i strip my truck to the frame, then my new lights would be allowed if mounted to the framerails.....

then i just need some big mudflaps

Jim, there's a guy here in Bullhead that's got a 84 or so, and he's got a Taco bed, and what looks like the front clip. It looks pretty much like the second set of pics DeathRunner posted. I've seen it up close, and if it's done right, it looks very cool. I think his front fenders are the more squared off ones like on the Runner pics, and it looks pretty tight. His is a street queen, unfortunately, but it still looks cool... If I see him I'll ask where he got his glass...

But just think, if you hit a whoop fast enough, you might take off! Now that you mention it, I think I agree with you... it is pretty squared off... Naw, go with the rounder ones.

i can already catch air off of this one set of railroad tracks around here if i go pretty far to the right

and hte square ones stick out a lot... the other ones that death posted actually look like they fit tighter.... i doubt my truck will grow any wider, and it doesnt need an extra foot of width on the fenders... jsut a couple inches....

my truck is jsut a hair wider and taller now..... (that pic was before i put on 31x10.5s and had 235s on it and before the balljoint spacers

just want to get some opinions on it..... i will probably end up getting it... i do wnat to get it, if money will allow later on the road... i do need to replace or highly modify my bed as its smashed in a good amount (pics in my link in signature) and my front tires are about 2-3" too wide for the current fenders....

I would love to see you retrofit a tacoma bed onto your truck. Then get Tacoma glass so the gate lines up and do the front conversion. I think it will look cool. Personally I like the styling of the older trucks, but if you like the taco look, I say go for it. You will have one of the only ones in existence, and if you take your time it will be the cleanest.

not sure if i want to actually put a taco bed on my truck, the door lines wont match up like they do with taco converseion bedsides.... it should line up pretty close... but i dont think i can find a bed of a taco rather cheap though...... i can get a stock bed for the 85 with external bedrails for $300 from a local wrecker....
