Ohh, thats where my hydrolic suspension comes in. I just lower about a foot and drive right on through

This past weekend was quite the car show. Lost of old cars with hydrolics bouncing them around town. Im surprise there arent more 4x4s with hydrolic lifts. Nothing like an instant foot of lift to help ya out...

UPDATE:

Evidently I had the wire clamps on backwards...so if you are working on it, do the opposite in those pictures.

Been to work and back for a total of 1.5 hours driving. While the wires do jiggle a good bit, they dont come close to my hood or roof. Remeber I have a 2inch body lift, so my bumper is 2 inches lower than most. So if your bump is in "stock" location, you'll have even more room for jiggling.

I brought that up mainly because if I do hit a fairly large branch the cable will probably touch to top of my windsheild, but just the cable. So no dents and maybe a minor scratch, but just imagine what a branch would do...

Looks like your trying to keep the aliens from reading your mind. I prefer the cheaper alternative, I drive around with my head wrapped in tinfoil.

After Data went under I had to unbolt my rack and stick in back, wouldn't fit.
Deffinatly something to think about before you put a bunch of stuff on your roof. Maybe one thing to add to all the stuff on the roof is a chainsaw.

Glad you caught that...The rule is to "Never saddle a dead horse" when using any kind of cabling/line clamps. The "saddle" is the part of the clamp that the u-bolt goes through and the "dead" end of the line is the part that is not directly under load, in this case, the short end of the cable. The long end is referred to as the "live" end. Flip 'em around and you're set.

Nice "low buck" mod!

of course i noticed, that's why i used the word 'revive'. the time is of no concern, experience is everlasting i just didn't want to make a new thread about it. i'm sure if someone did it back then they would remember, this is meant to spark anyone else's memory and getting help from those out there

Ummm sorry to be stupid but there are no pictures to connect up to?

Hard to imagine all of this...yes I know this is an old thread-but serves as a good example of why I am not fond of having to use a photo host service-the thread is not of much use without the pictures that were at one time attached.

I am picturing you have some type of "guy wire" that deflects branches upward and out of the way as they pass by the top of your rig.

Wow, blast from the past. I'm responding a few months late, but I do have some pictures still if you want them. I attached them this time around as poboytech.net is down (and probably for good). If you need something more specific, let me know...
