Haven't found a cause or fix for mine yet. But try this in the mean time to get you by. Shift into 4th and then reverse. No more grind. Just a quick fix, until the real problem can be corrected.

sounds like your synchros pal. Your synchros are trying to do their job by 'assisting' the gear into it's place, but cannot.

Since when is reverse a synchronized gear?

Bleed the clutch line and adjust pedal height. You are not getting proper disengagement.

Mine didn't start to do it until it had sat for 5 months waiting to get a new motor. But I have been driving it like that for 3 years now. Just hit 4th and then Reverse and it is fine, has kind of become habit now I don't even think about it.

Yep, I'll second 'happy...

Had the same exact thing happen on a car I had back in college. The car was due for a clutch replacement (~75k on the clutch) and when it was all done, the grinding was gone. All the shop did was replace the clutch and bleed the line. Of course, they said that all of my clutch grooves were gone so the clutch would create a suction with the flywheel and not completely disengage.

Since it is easier and cheaper, I would start with the bleeding... And check to see how many miles you have on that clutch...
