Great gas mileage

This is sort-of a useless post, but thought I'd brag about the fuel mileage I am seeing with my 5-speed 3rd gen 4Runner. I average 20 to 22.5 mpg with a mix of city and highway driving. Last weekend I filled up and drove to Lake Tahoe (read: steep hills), maintained an average of 70 mph on the uphills and 75 mph on the downhills with two mountain bikes on the roof and got 22.2 mpg. With the exception of the roofrack and slightly larger tires (31.1"), the truck is stock.

I was planning on a 3" OME lift and 33" MTRs, but I have to admit, with the price of fuel I am considering just a 1.5" lift and 31.8" tires (265/75R16s) to keep the fuel mileage reasonable.

I have only had this truck for about 25 tanks of gas, but the lowest mileage I've gotten so far is 19.3 mpg. I check my mileage at every fill up.

I feel like I'm having my cake and eating it too with the 3.4.

WOOOAAAAHHHH lets calm the hell down. Dont you think going to 31.8'' tires from 31.6'' tires to be just a little irresponsible!!!!!

Just kidding....I want a 3.4

Woops...I meant I have 31.1" tires (275/70R16) and will go to 31.8. (265/75R16 Yokohama Geolandars). The next step seems to be up to a 32.8" (285/75R16).

you could just lift and not get bigger tires

that's probably what i'll end up doing, just bc tires are so expensive anyway.
