Toyota buyback program Commence!!!

stuck with this silly little 2011 corolla for a month!

Yeah. if you dont mind sharing, let us know how much you get back? I'd seriously just keep the truck, and if it bothers you, weld a dime in there

I've been seeing a lot of these for sale on craigslist around here listed as having a new frame, springs, control arms and such. They are relatively cheap too.

I would keep it. Take the bed off, fix the rust and treat it with POR 15. Then keep enjoying it.

Jeez, if you can get 1.5x blue book, take the money and get a better one with no rust. I konw a number of people here and on other forums have gotten 1.5 bb.

I understand the love for these things, but I am shocked so many of you say keep it. Unless they try to screw you over on the check, which it seems they havn't been doing to people, then you will get more than enough to get another one in better condition.

Rust is a plague. It's better to have one that never had any than to have one that had it but has been cleaned and painted over, or re-welded.

That is a 43.44% return on your money. Take the money and run!!!

That is a better return then you will ever get in the stock market.

I need to buy a bunch of rusted out Taco's and sell them back to Toyota

Now go buy another one and mod the hell out of it. You will still have money left over.

i work at a toyota dealer and they failed ones that i looked under and didnt even see anything wrong with them on the newer ones they do a frame swap. Saw a lot of unhappy tacoma owners over the summer hand their keys over.

well trust me, im upset to see it go after all the time and money i put into it, but the regular cab was starting to feel cramped and i'm leaning towards possibly replacing it with a 4runner now. there was another guy in the dealership dropping off his tacoma and we were both pretty bummed talking about our trucks haha it was a sad sight...

Do they allow you to remove parts from your truck? Am planning to get my frame rust inspected soon, but have put in way more than 1.5x BB.

I don't see why not. They've got no use for the aftermarket parts and they're going to scrap the truck anyhow. Definitely don't expect them to offer you anything extra for any aftermarket parts you have. I would think they're going to want you to replace whatever you take off though - they're not going to let you part out a truck then give you 1.5x blue book.

Thanks. I doubt they will find anything, I have spent my fair share of time under my truck and never seen anything glaring. Just was curious about their policy on this, I didn't even know they had a buyback program. I always figured this was an insurance issue, at which point you can buy the vehicle back from the insurance auction!

I've seen a lot of guys in these situations come out extremely happy.

Congrats! Let us know what you decide to go with!

I believe you are only allowed to take accessories/parts that are not bolted on.

The truck only has to be able to drive in.
Hell, they'll pay to have it towed in.

Take off whatever you can but make sure it can roll onto a flatbed.
