Costco is good if you have a menbership. If not the membership is about $40. Road hazard insurance and lifetime balance/rotations are included/free. The only ones I know of are in Sunnyvale and another in MountainView.

Yes, even if you want a certain premium brand. If they don't have them in stock they can order them.

Costco will only install the original size tires though.

I really like americas tire, they'll mount and balance just about any tire (well, they said they'd try to balance 38" swampers).

Dunno if they have Discount Tires out there, but I've been really happy with them. I get the road hazard warranty on all my tires. On a trip to the Grand Canyon I ended up with flat on the road to the Toroweap Overlook (which I plugged). Later in the week, we stopped at the Discount in Flagstaff at 89 & I-40 and they replaced both the bad tire and the other tire on the axle, which the guy said he was sure he could see a bubble in the tread (wink, wink). Basically, the service has been good and there are stores all around the West, which makes a road hazard actually useful.

It must vary by store because I have seen them put larger tires on people's vehicles.
Anyway, Costco would be my vote for tires as well if you have one nearby.
