Gonna be rebuilding soon
Well, I have been running on 5 cylinders for a while now because my #6 cylinder has a burnt exhaust valve. My engine has 225,000 miles on it so far so I guess I should just have it rebuilt. I think I will get the following from engnbldr Pistons, rings, full bearing kit, oil pump, full gasket kit, timing belt, head bolts, and valves. I will get the o/s pistons and valves. I will also replace the water pump and I may get some Downey headers because I think the xover is the reason the exhaust valve got screwed up in the first place. I have heard that I should replace knock sensor and wire. And, I will have the injectors looked at. Is there anything that I may be forgetting here? Anyone know if engnbldr will cut me a deal with all that I will be getting from him especially since I am from the forum? I will need to talk to him soon, I guess. I am going to pull the motor and take it to a shop. Anyone have any idea of the price I should be looking at as far as labor? Well, thanks everyone for looking. I appreciate any advice I can get.
thanks,
Robert

if you done mind spending the cash to rebuild it im guessing that a shop will charge somewhere around 1200-1800 parts and labor. I have almost 300k on mine and when I got it had blow headgaskets so i fixed thoes didn't even think about the valves and 25k after it burnt all exhaust valves but 2 of them from me not shiming it. so off comes the heads again and new os valves went in from engnbldr and its been running great since and its just 8k shy of 300k dosent smoke gets decent mpg.
