Gear Ratios?

Does anyone know a good company to get gears from? I need 3.73's in my tacoma. The stock gears are 3.15's. This is on the 5-lug 2wd, and going from 26 to 31 makes my 4th gear almost useless. When I hit a flat part of the highway, it can hold steady in fourth, around 70 m.p.h., at like 1600 r.p.m. If anyone knows anything about gears for this, or possible a full third-member, please let me know.

Precision Gears are supposed to be about the best I believe. Yukon is another brand I have heard of, but not really sure about their reputation.

R&P

I just regeared from 3.73 to 4.10. precision didn't have my ratio. I bought Yukon R&P from Randy's Ring & Pinion. www.ringpinion.com

I got no complaints.

I am going to check with Randy's Ring and Pinion tomorrow. Thanks for the info! Sounds like I might be able to pick up a posi or locker through them too.

anyone know the type of rear-end in tacomas?

I found a few different styles of rear-ends for Toyota: 7.5", 8", L/C, t-100, and V6. Anyone know for sure what type would be used here. I don't know if the "V6" is for the 3.0's or 3.4's or both. If anyone has any knowledge of this, please let me know.

all 3rd gen 4Runners have the 8.0" rear and 7.5" front, V6 if you have a 3.0 or 3.4. Yukon and Precision are only true V6 gears, dont get anything else.

I have all the dimensions I need to find out what type of rear-end is in this. I have to go to the shop were I got the third member pulled out in the first place to get them, but they had them on hand to check around for me. I am going to check Randy's R and P, but I might be interested in those 3.73's. Keep those around, they might just be useful. I wouldn't mind the 4.10's for power, but that might kill my gas mileage. I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks.
