Gauge clusters?

You guys are probably getting tired of me posting about the topics that are almost identical but not quite, but you guys are so good and if this doesnt work then i could be out a nice few bucks. Anyways has anyone ever tried putting a cable spedometer transmission where an electric was? I have a 93 4runner 22re 5spd and the g58 (electric)is gone so i was goin to put in a 87 4 runner 22re w56b (Cable). From what ive seen and heard this switch would work if you take out the whole trans and tcase unit and it looks like i need the driveshaft outta the older 4runner to. But what options do i have about the gauge cluster. Ive taken clusters out of the older style truck pre 87 trucks and 4runner but they only have 3 sets of wires and my 93 has 4 so nothing really works in the dash. Now i know 89 and newer trucks have the same looking cluster but they are cable. Does anyone know if one of those will work, is this really by only option or is there another solution that is easier?

I also have another question that i would like to ask because i want to order my clutch soon cuz it could take up to 3 weeks to get here and if i get the wrong one thats a month and a half wasted. The clutch is pretty bad, probably related to the transmission being bad lol, so i want to change that too while the tranny is out. What do i order the cluthch for, a 93 22re or a 89 22re 4runner (says 87 in the other post but its supposed to be 89) this is a 1st gen 4runner incase your wondering because i know the trucks changed in 89 but i guess the 4runners didnt. thx guys

Are you replacing the flywheel???

If you are get the set for a 3.0 V6!!!

That's right, it fits in the 22re tranny and has more mass and grip. I have this in my 89 transmission and it is great. You can't do it without the flywheel though.

My shop was ordering mine and discovered that in 94 I believe they started using the same clutch as the V6. After a couple phone calls they discovered this clutch will fit in all 22re transmissions. At least that's how it was explained to me.

If you just want the 4 banger clutch they should be the same, if they are different it is just the V6 one maybe they switched in 93. But you can't use it with out the bigger flywheel....remember that!
