Hey Todd-
There have been a couple threads about this going...I think the general consensus is that increasing the wire size will provide the same results (increased flow). The supra guys do this I think.
You may want to search for the threads, I know they are out there. Most people go with Wallbro fuel pumps when upgrading.

Check with some of your master techs. A local independent Toy shop here in town said the same as Christian. They said increase the voltage to the fuel pump to increase fuel pressure/flow instead of replacing pump. They too said it's an old thing that Supra racers did/do. They also told me that they also increase the size of the fuel line. Not sure how true or how it technically works.
