I had my fuel injectors pulled and cleaned as part of my 90k service. I was hesitant about having it done, but I figured what the heck since my 4Runner has been so good to me (unlike my Grand Cherokee and Blazer before it) I was gonna spend the cash and take care of it. I have only used 93 octane super unleaded in it since I bought it, but Jeff Johnson, the service manager at Limbaugh Toyota, recommended it so I went ahead and had it done. They have the best service department that I have ever dealt with at any dealership and Jeff is awesome. He really takes care of his customers, and I didn't even buy my 4Runner from them. Well the long and the short of the matter is that it did produce noticable results. The acceleration just seems so much better since they were cleaned. Just thought I'd share that with ya'll if any of you were considering having it done. Later.

I had my 3.slow injectors cleaned @ 120K.

It had a positive affect on peformance and MPG.

I use 85-87 octane. Higher octane doesn't make an economic or performance gains with a standard 3.0 or 3.4 engine. If the engine was super charged it would be a difference story.

 

How much did these services cost you guys?

 

Mine was $122.95 and included a top engine clean. I think it's money well spent if it keeps my truck running well.

i assume this is something we can do ourselves. Im sure someone knows how to do this. so..... anyone? anyone? and no im not talking about the lame additives that you put in when you fill up.

 

My cost was $104. Included a engine tune-up.

It was done June 16th of last year.

I have done it but, not on a Toy, on a VW.

I would recommend buying new seals for the injectors if you do it yourself. Also, you will need a Toyota service manual to break down the injector.

It's a pain in the @ss.

 

$100 to $125 to physically remove all of the fuel injectors? How is that possible? They have to pull the plenum and fuel rails to get to them. Sounds more like it should be a $500 job for a stealership to do. I mean fuelinjectors themselves are pricet to replace. Are you guys positive they physically removed the injectors and didnt run a can of cleaner while the engine ran off of it? Not saying your lyers but do you see how I may be seeing this? Blue

There's mechanics that have done so many fuel injection services that they could do it in their sleep.

I watched my mechanic. Later rewarded him with $1,600 dollars of additional work.

i believe the company is called ORB which is the same brother company for Manik. I paid $450 for front and back. IMH all brushguards are all the same. they're just metal pipes bent which adds no protection but adds weight. only thing it's good for is to push cars by their bumpers and ARB,TJM. they might look more agressive but personally I dont think it looks good.

 

Mine cost about 100...but that wasn't for a pull and clean job, they attached this pressurized cleanser in a bottle and ran it until the engine died. I did notice a big difference in the performance and now I'm pretty religious about using Fuel Injector Cleaner and using the higher octane gas (not sure if that matters but it makes me feel better)
