Fuel Injector Cap, temp. fix? Need help ASAP!!

I just replaced my knock sensor wire, but when i was taking out the injectors, i noticed one of the ends (the green part) was cracked. When i was looking at it, i dropped it and the whole green part broke off. I read i thread here that says you can buy the green cap, but i looked all over everywhere, including the dealer, and no one sells that seperatly. I'm about to leave on a trip for about 2 months, and i'm leaving my 4runner at home. I would like to get it running so someone can start it up every once in a while. I would rather not leave it sitting for that long. So would it be alright to just put the injector in without the cap just so i can be driven for a couple minutes every week or so? I need to know about this before tuesday night, which is when i leave. Your help is much appreciated.

p.s. where can i buy this cap online? The stealer said that it's not sold seperatly. Also, is a Beck/Arnley remanufactured injector any good? It's only $50 while any other injector is $100-175. Thanks alot.

Does this cap do anything else other then just be there?

If it does not hold anything in place like an O ring that seals it to the manifold, then don't worry about it. Just put it back in and get on with life.

From what i've heard, it's a heat shield that covers the whole tip, except for a tiny hole for the nozzle.

Where are you at? Around Seattle, I can get the cap at any of several injector shops. Yes, it is a protective heat shield. Yes, it can be installed and run without the cap. I don't know if there would be any long term problems if you just left it off. Are you changing the seals too?
Come to think of it, I think NAPA has the caps in their fuel injection cataloge. My friends 3.0 4Runner had 1 injector from a 24 valve engine in it (2 discharge nozzles). The injector shop traded with him so he had a set all the same.

I'm in hawaii actually, but i'm leaving today for oregon, and i'll be driving to NYC, so if there are any shops you know of that are on the way, that would help. I already went to napa, and the guy there looked thorugh the catalog, and didn't find anything but injectors. Thanks for the help though.

If that cap does not hold a sealing O ring in place you can run just fine without it.
