Fuel Cut Off Switch

for the fuel pump?
the wires for the fuel pump are located under the drivers side seat and exit the body at the backseat floorboard. i haven't traced them further, but i have pictures of all the wiring under the seats.
i relocated the rear window up/down switch to my dash next to the clutch start cancel switch. the wires for that run parallel to the fuel pump, guage, and antilock sensor.

yup, and i'll also post the haynes wiring diagram. :
: but not tonight. i will do it soon.
the diagram will be most helpful.
also, you could go to an auto parts place and look at the haynes or chilton books for the wiring diagrams in the back.
what a life saver. i relocated the rear window switch without having a multimeter.
quite helpful.

You might try this online 2nd gen factory manual also.
It's packed with some good info.

I hear ya, I've been thinking about doing the same thing. Initially, I thought of running a switch behind the gas door, but then thought, hmmm, electric switch, gasoline, might be dangerous! I'd like to have a switch somewhere outside the vehicle that will be less obvious to a thief looking for a cutoff switch.

Looking at my haynes looks like blue wire for 95 4runner?
(does that sounD right?)
Can't seem to find what AMPS it's rated at for a switch/relay/fuse selection??.

I'm no electrician
Picked up a Rocker swith from radio Shack (says for automobile)
Rated 25A at 12VDC
Found another in my garage (Toggle)
20AMP 125 VAC/CA
10AMP 277 VAC/CA
3/4 HP/CV 125-250 VAC/CA
Could some one translate this into english??
Should, I use the rocker or toggle?
thanks

Rocker Switch :
25A at 12VDC
25 Amps at 12 Volts Direct Current...
DC is what a battery creates.
20AMP 125 VAC/CA
--125 Volts Alternating Current
10AMP 277 VAC/CA
3/4 HP/CV 125-250 VAC/CA
-- i don't know about this one
as far as a switch goes, if it connects the two points, i can't imagine it would make that big of a difference.
a tiny ass switch will not be able to handle much current and will overheat and fuse probably.
AC to DC
AC current, or Amps is not the same as DC Amps... at the same voltage.
switch style is simply preference. i like rocker switches for my lights, and toggle switches for my cut-off switches... that's just my preference.
i would use the DC rated switches to be on the safe side...
but i'm sure one of the techie guru's will correct me, so we'll see.
