It was pointed out that an ARB is hard to turn with when it is engaged, which can be remedied by shutting it off. Anything that is a full time locker is going to make it hard to turn unless you can unlock the hubs, no? If so, i don't think you want a locker in the front at all for the street, although an ratchet type locker might work.
guess it depends if it had ADD or not, if it does you could street a locker but if not it would have manuel hubs or those crappy autos instead of drive flanges.

If you have traction control and one wheel is up in the air spinning with a TrueTrac wouldn't the TC system apply the brakes for you since the wheel is spinning faster than the others? The seem like the TC and TrueTrac would work together nicely.

I have LSD in front and rear of my 81 and works great for hills and rough uneven terrain but when I get twisted in the rocks and ruts its no better than an open diff... I plan on going spool in the front and ether E-locker or grizzly in the rear

I would never put a powertrax locker in the rear of my truck, let alone in the front.
I've driven trucks with the lockright, it's garbage. And to put one in the front of an IFS truck with CV shafts is just asking for trouble.

I'd go with a selectable locker in the front, but I don't wheel that hard, plus the LSD will keep the price in my range.

ATRAC applies the brakes to the slipping wheel to transfer torque to the gripping wheel....somewhat.

The older 3rd gen Runners were not so equipped, though. We had regular TRAC which cuts throttle.

If the tru-trac lets a free wheel spin, all you have to do is apply a small amout of brakes and it will transfer power to the gripping wheel.

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't suggesting to go with the Powertrax I just thought the videos were informative.

According to the application guide, that part number 911A342 isn't for trucks with shift on the fly. My rig has the push button 4WD...is that what the app guide is referring to? If so it looks like 911A445 is the right part number....?

Is it possible to retrofit an e-locker into the front diff? Or are the sizes different?

Sure, if you do a solid axle swap up front, otherwise size is different.

well he's saying that the E-locker will fit an 8" differential..not a 7.5" differential.
