Front Drivers Side Rattle Found

I took my 4runner to the dealer to have the 45,000 service completed prior to my certified vehicle bumper-to-bumper warrenty expiring.

After leaving the dealer, my front driver's side wheel started to make annoying rattling noises. When I got home I pulled the wheel to find that they didn't completely reinstall the front brake pad anti-rattle plate?

= dealerships suck.

If you are having front end rattleing issues, this might be a good place to take a look at.

Over my 22 years of buying and dealing with Toyota Dealers I have had some great service and of course some headaches just as anyone.
I am curious as to what the dealerships reply when you told them?

I didn't hassle with providing feedback to the dealer.

They would probably note that I was a bitchy customer in their computer system, and when I go back for my lower ball joint recall, they would find some way to screw something else up just to get at me.

I guess I'm a little paranoid about letting anyone work on my rig; thankfully, these forums are helping me to become a do-it-yourself'er.

Those clips do go thru wear, you should get some new clips and caliper hardware. or better yet go with the tundra upgrade.

can you describe the sound at all? my 97 SR5 rattles on what appears to be the front left side like crazy and it sounds like a metal cage or something. is that what yours sounded like??

It's hard to describe the sound, but a rattling metal cage sounds about like it.

Poke your finger through the slots in your rim and press on the part of the clip that bows out. If it moves easily, then the clip is your problem.
