Front breaks/wheels making clank noises
With the windows down, stereo off, and cruising at around 10-30 mph, my front breaks make a "clank" sound when going over small bumps, or even just going on level pavement.
It was only on the passenger side, now its on both, and both sides seem to have gotten worse over the past few months. I had my 4Runner aligned today at goodyear tires, and they said the breaks were fine, and said that the breaks are making that noise, and you shouldnt worry about it....
buttttttt.... its frigging ANNOYING as heck driving down the street and hearing the clanking every second. It makes the 'Runner sound like somethings loose or broken and cheap sounding.
What should I do?!

There is a spring clip that holds the pads off the rotor. I had this same problem. All that had to be done was for the brake shop to bend the clip a little so it would provide tension. Over time the clips get tired and need a little tweak.
Took them like five minutes (including getting it in the lift and removing the wheels)

I am having the exact same problem. I had new rotors put on about 3 weeks ago and ever since then, clank clank clank. Its a wierd metal sound. I need to bring it back and tell them to fix it for free. Did you ever get the problem resolved. Let me know what you find out. Thanks

Yeah, I thought it was the spring that held the pads off the rotor.
Problem is, when I apply the breaks, it doesn't stop! So, I thought, maybe its not the breaks?
Now today I went and got some coffee, and on the way, I heard now some high-pitched squeeking from my drivers side front wheel. GRRRRRRRRR!
