im glad you went for the Firestone MTs, hopefully they will be a good value.

so youre going to install them on your 15x7s or are you getting some 15x8s?

if schaefer can fit 35s with 3" of lift, you can fit 33s with 4-5" of lift without much difficulty.

mount them tomorrow and drive down to tellico and meet us.

I wish I could meet up with you guys. I've got too much stuff going on right now - maybe some other time this summer we could meet up... perhaps in VA somewhere.

I'm going to stick with my 15x7s and see what happens. If I have a lot of problems, I'll have to give some though to 15x8 or 15x10. But until I have problems, I'm going to stick with what I've got.

I've only heard one bad thing about the Firestones to this point, and lots of good things. The bad thing was second hand... apparently Little Joe for ODW used to spend some time on a Land Rover board, and they were going through these tires pretty fast. I guess the lugs were too soft for them and were getting torn up pretty fast.

I don't wheel that hard or that often (at least not as hard or as often as I'd like), so hopefully these will work out well for me.

Talking Awesome

Like I said above, your rig looks awesome now, it will only look even "awesomer" if that is a word with bigger meats! I can't wait to see some flex pics!

Thanks for all the advice and help man!

Aw come on, just slip away and come to SE4RJ! We'll even put you up for the weekend for FREE!

Hey jackson,
Those tires look great. I just went to 33"s two days ago and I don't know why I didn't sooner. A 1" body lift is easy to do yourself and it will make all the difference. Now I hope you can make it to EC4RJ so we can see those bad boys in action.

Good choice on the tires! I couldn't be happier with mine. They handled everything with ease at our TX 4ROC outing last weekend. Enjoy!

Hey, just drive in a straight line all the time and rubbing will never be an issue, right? Congrats on the new meats, can't wait to see them mounted. I know when I went to 33's, it was like night and day, the rig look alot less like a station wagon then.

Dude those are ˟˟˟˟˟˟ sweet. You may rub some, but like Brian said, grind or bend the pinch weld and maybe some light trimming and you should be good to go.

Remember: You'll get some added height by installing the tires alone. Roughly 1/2 the diameter difference. In your case, about a half an inch or a little less.

Good choice.

Doug M.

P.S.: Post some pics when they're on!

Anybody got pics of some hammering, grinding they've done to fit tires. I thought I remembered seeing some before, but didnt have much luck searching for them. Thanks.

Not yet. As said before... I need to buy upper a-arms and a body lift if I'm going to have any chance of them clearing.

As some of you know, I'm getting ready to move. Problem is, the bank/appraiser is jerking us around with the value of our current house. We listed it at $125k, sold it for $125k, but the bank will only appraise it for $105k, so it looks like we are going to lose $20k that we thought we were going to have. This has put the straps on our wallets just a bit. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I'll get them mounted.

I am still planning on EC4RJ, so they have to be on by the middle of next month.
