I should be painting mine all black as well.....minus the rims.

You can buy a black grill pretty cheap

http://car-part.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi

As far as painting it, I would take the grill off and sand all the loose chrome off if it is flaky with like 400 grit sand paper and then smooth it to like 600 grit.

Spray would look fine. I would do a couple coats of gloss black.

As far as the bumper, I wouldn't paint them. You can buy new bumpers that are black sheet metal. There are plenty of replacement parts suppliers that will sell black bumpers. I would consider painting one of these black, but not a chrome one.

HAHA^ that is what he wants.

AS for painting the bumpers... They are the allpro tube bumpers. Unpainted metal. He was just gonna spraypaint them black. What do you think?

I just spray painted my chrome grille black. It looks almost factory. All I did was sand, prime, and paint.

That bumper should be fine to paint. In fact He needs to paint it to avoid rust.

This is what my friends 85 runner looks like flat black with rockcrawler rims.

He's got 5" of suspension lift and a 1" rodger brown lift on his.
He is only running 32x11.50's though since he is not regeared for better mileage.
The top lights came with the vehicle they are kind of tacky he wants to pull them sometime.
If you photochop it and add 35's and all pro bumpers you will get the idea of what it will look like.
