Frame differences 2wd and 4wd
Kinda random, but i believe I am pulling a 22RE from an 88 2wd pickup for my Runner and was wondering what were the major differences from a 2wd and 4wd frame. I ask because in New England there are many pickups with major frame rust/damage and I can get them for dirt cheap. So if they were similar enough I could make a complete truck for very little $.
I would like to get a solid axle and all 4wd components on it from an old rusty 85. Is this process entirely to big or would it work out well?
Suggestions and Opinions are welcome.

Entirely different front suspension and steering, with different mounting brackets and points. It would all have to be replaced.
Some frame bracket differences for holding the transfer case.
Different 2 piece driveshaft bearing mount location, if so equipped.
Different leaf spring frame mount in the rear.
Different shock mounts in the rear
Different fuel tank mounts.
Rear axle bump stop welded to frame not bolted to axle.
Different e-brake mounting points.
It is possible to swap the frames, but there's a lot of welding and cutting work involved.
