Found 85 4Runner for sale

What do you guys think about this ? It would be strictly an off road toy, keep the abuse to my 2000 to a minimum. SFA is appealing and the fact that if it runs well and everything works it would be a hell of a fun project...like I have more $ for projects.

Check under those rear flares for rust. That is where it starts on these Runners. He lists minimal rust anyway though. Of course, for a pure trail rig, who cares? Be sure to check the frame though, especially right in front of the rear springs. Rust there can be catastrophic.

DO IT! Not to give you any peer pressure though..... That is a good price for a 85.

I agree with everyone else. If its going to be a trail rig, then who cares if the body has a little rust on it.

Sounds like it has some carbon buildup in the engine.
200 psi is a little high.
Should be between 140 and 170.
Maybe a couple runs with BG44k (or something like that) will help reduce those compression numbers.
That is, unless he's modified the engine to have higher compression, it's a little high.
I still say get it!

Hey DeMello, start restoring it right after you sell me the bumper! Does yours have the front bumper and brackets on it?

Sorry the front end has a little damage the hood and bumper are toast.

I have all the body except one of the front fenders, hood and front bumper.

I have a old rusty tube bumper on the rear.

The doors are the wing window ones and the dash had that cool little gauge pod under the dash.

Its already to late for this one. It's well on it's way to being a rock buggy most of the interior is gutted!

hey dude, if you do get that. I know a guy that has a shop in lower southwest Michigan, he could help you build that thing up like mad! He belongs to a club I plan on joining, 4given4x4

They do runs every month and are really cool guys. Take a look see and good luck.
