Yota Runner thats awesome! I think I am going to recess mine a bit more in to the valance though. I might need to make a mount tab or something. Those clear covers are sweet. I was thinking the black plastic ones would be nice, but I like yours more now that I see them on a rig.
I have a set of H3 silverstars I would like to use, I dont think those would go thermo-neukular!

So what is the difference between the Hella 500ff kits? One is fog and one is driving, so is it just beam pattern?
Also, are there any diagrams available regarding the bumper/valance/reinforcements for the front end?
I found a couple parts diagrams, but not much with regards to where they all line up.

this i read...the regular 500's come in driving, fog and amber fog patterns and the freeform's or ff only come in driving or what's known as pencil beam. The main difference is in the lens and reflector, normal driving light 500's use the lens to direct the light into a pencil beam where as the free forms utilize the reflector to direct the beam pattern keeping the lens clear and undiffused. Supposedly the FF's have a slightly better beam and produce a hair more light as a result of the more "Efficient" design. mine are 10x smaller compared to those 500ff's. as far as the valance reinforcement for light mounting, i don't believe you can find any diagram, you're just gonna have to fabricate brackets yourself.

I don't know about other places, but MANY, MANY full size trucks do that with their LightForce. That way no one can steal them off of their bumpers. My cousin went out to his truck one time and someone took a hacksaw and cut the lights right off from it's mount...

I mounted mine on the bull bar because I park in Boston every day and they would be bashed without protection. I highly recommend the plastic stone shields.
I would caution anyone with Hella 500's to be careful when you reinstall them in their housings (after a bulb change). I evidently didn't have it seat just right, tightened the screw and at some point after that my glass lens cracked.

I am still trying to work out how to get these IPFs mounted. Where I WANT them , I cant mount the bolt to the bumper sub support. Where I CAN mount them, isnt where I want them...

Just a little warning, putting anything extra in front of the radiator can reduce your natural air flow. At best your fan/fan clutch will work harder, worst case you over-heat. Keep an eye on actual coolant temps via OBDII scanner or a real temp gauge. Don't go by the factory temp gauge in the dash, its designed to stay in the middle through a big range of temps.

my only guess for securing the light covers would be to wire or screw them on, if thats even possible on your lights i don't know....I wouldn't worry about it, but thats just me. If someone wants to mess with your rig there going to do it anyway. Plus I take my covers off when I wash my rig so it would be a pain to have to unsecure them to get them off....my .02
