Fog Light Opinion

Looks good. I've been thinking about something similar... except I want to retrofit a set of fogs into the factory turn signal location, then rewire my corner lamps as my turn signals. Maybe over the winter when I have more time...

Now that's a pretty good idea. I was thinking the same thing about reusing the turn signal slots for fogs... Let me know how that turns out. Maybe I'll do the same, with the extra two fogs underneath.
I'm planning to get a grille guard next year, which is why I'm not thinking about mounting fogs in the middle anywhere. It would just be a waste of time as it would be blocked out by the grille guard later.

I looked into that with my '96.
In the end, I custom fabbed some brackets and mounted some Hella's either side of the lisence tag.
However, they were pretty vulnerable.
Many guys use PIAA's cut into the valance as they look very factory . My concern would be cutting a perfect square opening and getting it level. The PIAA's have a trim ring that will cover up any bad cutting but with a hole cutter, you can get a perfect circle.
BTW, the Hella 500's were soooooo much better than my stock fog lights, even with uprgraded bulbs.

Actually, for that year, the factory ones are rectangular.

Otherwise I have to find the fogs, do the cutting and conjure up a good bracket to keep them in.

Ok, I see what you mean. I thought you meant factory ones where the fogs are in the pic I showed above.
They sell those fog lights and you have to cut away the plastic for a nice fit. They're not bad but again, because I'm getting the grille guard next year, it will just block those lights out.
Guess I'm going to cut away at my bottom bumper sometime and get this going. Have the clear corners now and going to get the clear bumpers later on. All the lights in front being clear should look great I think.

I can't believe Jason B hasn't chimed in on this one.
If I had a pre-99 truck I would follow his lead and get the Performance Products valance. It looks better than factory option and puts the fogs on the outside of the truck - where you want them.
