For the light on the switch, check you ground off of the switch. I had the same problem with my hella fogs, and it was just the ground. For turning on the fog lights without the headlights it all depends on how you are wired. If you have a wire coming from your headlight wire to the relay then they will only go on when the headlights are on. I tap into my fuse box, using the cig lighter and etc. Let me know if i can help you more

i check the ground and it is connected. see i unplugged 3 wires to the switch it worked before i did that and then when i pluged them back in the switch would not light up. i have 2 more fog lights that turn on by them selves without headlights. i would like to do this to these 2 fog lights as well. the 2 fog lights that come on by them selves are wired to a relay and have a wire going to a 15 fuse in the fuse panel on lower drivers side. i dont know much about this stuff any help would be appreciated thanks please reply steven

there are 4 wires coming off of the relay. One is ground, one splits into two and is connected to the lights to provide power, one goes to the switch, and one connects to power source. This last one (power to the relay) is what you have jimmy rigged into your fuse panel. This is done so that the lights cannot be turned on without whatever that fuse goes to getting power (aka without the key on) To make the 2nd set of lights turn on without the headlights you have to locate the relay that controls them, find out where the power wire is tapped into. A lot of time it is simply vampire tapped to one of the wires coming out of the headlights (hence when the headlight wire gets power it energizes the relay and turns the fogs on) Simply disconnect this tap and instead tap the wire to a fuse that gets power when the truck is on. Or you could crimp a connector on the end of it and just run it to the batter so that you can turn them on without the key on. Depends on your preferences, hope this helps, if not PM me and i should be able to help you out a little better.

ok the power goes from the switch to the dome 7.5 amp fuse in the fuse panel on lower drivers side. the ground wire runs to the first relay under my hood and the acc wire what ever that is runs to a prong on the bottom half of the relay. the switch still does not light up, what i need to do to fix this. and what do i need to do to make them turn on by themselves thanks please reply steven

ok, new delevopment. i have found that two of the wires that are connected to the relay run to 2 different places. one of them runs to the battery and the other runs to the fuse box right behind the battery. is this what is causeing them to only turn on with head lights?? if so how do i fix it?? please reply. steven
