Fog Lamps

Has anyone got or ever found the Toyota Foglamps that fit under the bumper lamps on a 2nd Gen. I'm looking to find some of these to replace the ones on my Bull Bar which I hope to remove.

I have seen one UK spec 4 Runner with these in but never seen them again and as I was driving I couldn't stop and ask.

Alternatively does anyone know of some off another car that would fit - I'm toying with using some from a 1991 on BMW 3 Series (E36 model) which look about the same. I need to use this area as I am going to put spots in the lower grill and wouldn't have room for fogs as well. Also I don't want to have too much in front of the grill as the 2.4 Turbo Diesel has a known overheating problem with resulting cracked heads. Thats the main reason for taking off the bull bar and fogs, trying to get as much airflow as possible through the front of the car.

Jason.

Thanks.

I also just had a look at Gadgets page and like the look of the Performance Products spoiler, I may order one of these - hope they ship to the UK. alternatively might get one sent to a mate and pick it up next time I'm in the States.

Hey Lucky!

If you're not using your AC you could also remove the condenser from behind the grill and this would allow more air flow. You could also change to a lower temp thermostat. The current one runs at 88 degrees. Some of the Aussie guysput 82's in and had good reports. My head cracked two years ago and toyota quoted me £1600 for a new one. I got a genuine Toy head for $650 from and local engineering firm. So if you are off-roading make sure you clean the rad well. Take it from someone who knows.

Delboy.

Thanks. My Surf actually has the AC condenser under the engine rather than behind the grill.

I don't actually have a temperature problem at the moment, guess I'm just trying to head off the inevitable. Guess I just think that the front Fogs (8 Inch Bosch) mus really affect the airflow plus I've also got small Ring Driving lights mounted lower down which are in a fairly vulnerable position. I figure that if I can get both Fogs and Driving lights mounted in the valance then they will stand a chance when I finally start going off road plus they will have the added advantage of not impeding the airflow. I can then sell the Bull Bar and I won't have to clean the thing so often - the Chrome is starting to get a bit patchy.
