Thumbs up Fatty Fender Flare Mud Flaps (Pics)

I have the answer... or what I did...

Two Bolt holes line Rite up the inner one uses a plastic square nut the center uses the screw hole that is left over from the running board removal. The outside I used a self tapper...

A front shot...

The info... The Mud Flaps are from a 87-88 4X4 Toyota pick up (I have both one is a 87 parts truck the other is My 88 Xtra Cab the Flaps are the same on both.) If you order new the Part number has changed a few times and they no longer say TOYOTA on the bottom.

What da ya think?

On my dad's 97 SR5 we found some OEM flaps for the front that are similar to the rear OEM's. They fit our trucks body style a lot better IMHO. But those are effective and get the job done, and that's really all they're there for.

I did an identical mod to my newly-purchased '01 a month or so after buying it. It was obvious to me that the front 'splash guards' would have zero effectiveness against flying stones chipping the rocker areas. In my case, I picked up a new set of 4WD, V6 Tacoma front flaps. Two of the three holes were a perfect match - the third I simply drilled the flap to match the existing mount on my 4Runner.

5 years later and my rocker panels are chip free.

Recall the approximate cost for those mudflaps?

I believe they were around $60 each. Seemed pretty damn expensive at the time but have been worth every penny.

This is why I went with these I wanted to keep the stone chips away.
I also ordered the new flaps for an 88 to see what comes so I'll snap a Pic and post price and part # when they get here.

Okay the new flaps showed up today...
Pros looks like they'll bolt on with existing holes
Cons way to short for me just under 4 inches shorter then the ones I already put on. They're about 21 dollors each.

Here's some pic so you can see if they'll work for you...

Those are great, so great in fact, that I would rip them off the very first time I drove off the tar. I ripped off my two front ones, replaced them, and ripped them off immediately. Mudflaps that don't disconnect easily are a waste of money unless you are a street truck only, and even then they aren't pretty.

Do you want some with the long flaps I put on? I'll try to take some tomorrow. I wasn't planning on putting the short ones on, but i could just for pics if you want.
