fan clutch assembly for 3.0?

my alternator gave up the ghost, and now the fan belt is making some significant noise and the mechanic thinks it's the fan clutch bracket...

but the bracket is part of the fan clutch assembly, sold as a unit at $550 quoted...

anybody have to replace their fan clutch and find the same thing?

The fan pulley bracket can only be ordered as a whole assembly, bracket/fan/fan clutch. I was quoted $435 their cost at a dealer this past winter. I went with a electric fan and cut the bracket up and made a cover out of it... You'll get better mileage with a fan... I am getting around 23.5 with my 3.4 if I take it easy...

Hear are my belt sizes without the pulley...

and a pic without the pulley...

thanks for all the info, guys.

tacomaTRD; what dealer quoted you $435 their cost in NH? dube toyota in dover NH is saying $700!!

yeah, i've thought that this might be a good forcing function to do the electric fan mod, but i don't have the time or energy to get into it right now. but i must say i don't understand how it will garner a MPG boost either....

I have one too if you are interested but Red is closer so I think shipping from him would be less... Either way just let me know!
