Factory Foglights on a 1997 4Runner?
Hi,
Tried searching but came up with nothing. I have a 1997 Limited 4Runner that I bought used. I always thought the foglights that came with it were from the factory but... I cannot find the relay for the foglights in the fuse box. On 1999 and later 4Runners, I know there is a label for the foglight relay on the box cover. So my question is, were the foglights on my 1997 retrofitted? Did foglights even come from the factory on the 1997 model? If they were retrofitted, I will have to search for the relay somewhere in the engine bay right?
Thanks a lot Yotatech!

In case anyone cares...
I am now under the impression that I have a retrofitted set of foglights. I found a separate relay and fuse for the foglights. Also, the power for the switch is tapped with a scotchlok on the headlamp switch wire.
If the wiring is pretty thick gauge and I have a 30 amp fuse, does anyone think that I could run 100w bulbs in the fogs? Would the fuse protect me from the wattage doing too much damage?

If they are the stock fogs I would run what came in them, if they are aftermarket then they MAY be able to run it but verify the wiring, fuse and all connections can handle it.

I have a 98 runner. The relay is on the drivers side fender. You may want to move the battery out to get to it easier. Lights and wiring harness can be purchased at Rallylights.com . The lights are pt# HL65060 and interchangable @ $60 each. Their contact info is below is taken from a recent order I made. They should be able to give you any part you need.
