Extra 12 v outlet

Extra 12 v outlet
Has anyone added an extra 12 v outlet in the front of their rig?
Rather than fubaring up my factory cigarette lighter so it will have power with the key off, I'd like to add one too the panel where I put the switch for the Warn Power Interrupt kit.
I'd probably use a 30 amp relay under the hood much like the lamps and switches for them are wired up, or I could probably get away with just wiring it directly to the battery with a fuse by the battery. That would be easier.
I'd like full time power up there to run the GPS via the cigarette adaptor I just bought without having to have the key on all the time for it.
Yeah yeah I know, the mods just never stop do they

I added two unswitched outlets high on the driver's side kick panel. I wanted to run the GPS cable around the top of the dash to plug it in without the cable hanging down the front of the dash.

Hi Mack, looking forward to some pics later.
Chuck that sounds like a good way you did yours too.
Mark, the green light is the switch for the Warn cut off solenoid I wired up a few weeks back.
I should have mounted the switch a few inches lower though as you can't see that the switch is on unless your stoop down.
I may go to a boneyard and look for a panel from a wrecker and re-do the switch so that it's lower.
Or I could use the hole that is there now in the panel to mount the extra cigg outlet.
Hey, that just may work! Then I'll move the switch a little Southward.
Thanks for bringing this post back to the top, you just got my brain in "mod mode" again
