Ever had a relay "go bad"?
I finished up my custom 4 lamp rear light set up last week (I'll post pics soon) and they've been great. I've got each set wired with a relay, and the set I'm referring to is triggered by the factory reverse lamps. Last night for some reason they wouldn't go off. I even shut the vehicle off and they stayed on. I finally just slapped the sheet metal in the area the relay was mounted and the lights finally went off. So, do relays ever "stick" or is it starting to go bad? It was a brand new one, the typical Bosch style.... Do I replace it or wait and see.... cause if it happens again and I don't notice the battery will be dead after a while. Thanks!

Yeah they can. My fuel pump relay went 'bad' on my 84 SAAB 900 Turbo. It uses the Bosh mechanical fuel injection, like the 80's Porshe 911s. Good performance for an 84, great car...expensive part. The relay cost 150 to replace. I tried a junk yard...no luck. I took the relay inside (it got wet) and after a couple of days smaked it good, and it has been fine since (knock on wood).
