Enough to make a grown man cry....

I was inside a gas station Thursday, paying for my gas when this happened:

The only comfort I have is knowing I deal with a good body shop. Sheeesh!

Yes. He was a stupid old fart, (not a mature gentleman, like myself), who couldn't figure out how to back his '75 Dodge pickup through the 12 foot space available between my truck and the gas pumps!

I guess when they wanna hit ya, they're gonna hit ya!

My insurance will cover it. I was so pissed I didn't even talk to him directly except to copy down his license info. The police talked to him. I never saw any him produce any insurance info, so he may be insurance deficient.

At least it wasn't a hit and run! Guess you still have the headache of dealing with the insurance company now though

No, it shouldn't. Of course, you never know.

One of the worst parts about that is it's just enough to be an inconvenience. The only part of that which should need actual work would be the little scuff under the light. The bumperette can be replaced as can the taillight pretty easily. It *shouldn't* take the body shop very long at all to fix it. That particular scuff looks like the least of the damages and could just need buffed out. Good luck though!

I agree with Sleepy, your insurance should go up even if its not your fault.. I guess depneding on your age (and insurance company) this is the X variable you have to figure, but it were me, and I filed with my insurance (age 24/AAA) my prems would go up..

Crap like the "I dont have insurance " makes me want to beat him in the head with a 2-litre. I have little tolerance for ignorance...

Thanx, but it's not a scuff. Its a dent in the quarter panel and there's a minor stress dent further forward in the panel. If the dent can be pushed out, I may get lucky and not have to have paint work on the body, but if not..... oh, well.

At any rate, we've dealt with this shop for years and their work is always first rate.

The worst is the inconvenience and almost as bad is having to drive an Escort or a Neon for a week instead of a 4Runner.

that sucks...i had a guy at my old job leave his parking brake up and the truck in neutral while i was out. When I came out I saw his front bumper pressed up against my back bumper. It had rolled about 5 feet, which doesnt sound so bad except that this was a 24 footer up against my two month old tacoma that i had at that time. Luckily it was only my chrome bumper that had dimples from his front plate dug into my bumper. He bought me a new bumper that same day so as not to get the company involved. People are just careless sometimes. Good luck getting that taken care of

Unfortunately, the bottom line is that ˟˟˟˟ happens, no matter how careful we are.

Thanx for all the good wishes, though.
