Ok I have a 1995 Tacoma 4x4 v6 5vzfe with a manual trans. I need to replace the engine and I have found a 1999 4 runner 2 wheel drive v6 5vzfe. Is there anything that will need to be changed to make the donor engine work. Only thing I can think of would be the fly wheel. I have been told the oil pans on 2 and 4 wheels drives are actually the same. Also the donor engine has 80k miles in it so what are some things I should do before installing this engine.

Sounds like a bolt in affair...... ive swapped a 3.4 into a 92 pu, swapping like motors into a chassis that was originally made for that motor shouldnt be a problem.

 

So nothing to change?

 

when u get the new motor over look all sensors and make sure they are a direct match. if not replace with yours, they might of changed little things so u might have to use your intake manifolds or things like that, but should be a strait bolt in for block wise.

 

what is a decent price to pay for a 99 5vzfe with 80K?

I hear if auto and manual , may be different wiring from harness.

Stop by my thread and let's merge. I have seen used motors from 500-1200.

Also is your 95 also 3.4?
