engine probs?

When starting my engine, sometimes a cloud of whitish smoke will pour out of the exaust right when its cranked, but then goes away. Afterwards, the engine seems to putter. I tried making a sound file to upload on the web, but it didnt turn out well. Any suggestions on why it is doing this and how to fix it other than taking it to the shop? The toyota dealership here sucks, no one knows what they are doing and they try to charge you for things you dont need, as well as screwing up your car, then telling you its broken so they can charge you to fix their own mistake.

I have already checked the oil, and the white smoke is not from an overfilling of oil.

Is this on a 22RE 4 cylinder motor? It could be a warn valve guide allowing oil to leak onto the top of the valve when the motor is off. At startup the oil burns. It isn't leaking fast enough to make the smoke all the time but when its off it builds up enough to smoke. White smoke= burning oil.

The miss or 'putter' could be a fouled spark plug caused by the burning oil. Just a guess.

its a 3.0 L v6. I am going to check all the spark plugs and wires tomorrow and see if that might be the prob. While I am at it, i guess i should check all the wires for cracks, seeing as its 12 years old.
Thanks for the advice

I thought blue was oil burning, white was water or condensation. A suggestion is to have the cooling system pressure tested, you could be getting antifreeze into a cylinder. when was your last tune-up? I may be way off. It really hard to guess when you didn't i.d. you engine type.
