Is it the gear ratio you need? Regearing adds a lot. Is yours a 4-runner? If not, you have to modify your housing. If it fits yours it is a fair price.

We bought a complete rear (Taco) for about $1000 (new), and an e-locker diff only$500 (used). Then had both regeared to 5.29 ($$$$)

You can buy brand new ones (diff only) in 4.10, 4.30 or 4.56 for about $900 from 1sttoyotaparts.com (near Seattle)

4.10 = 41110-3D030
4.30 = 41110-3D080
4.56 = 41110-3D010

Housing modification at this web site:

I had found a complete e-locker axle from a junk yard for $550. The thing that scarred me was it's history, unknown. I could have a local shop check it out for $100. I didn't want to buy an axle, have it checked out, to possibly have a peice of junk. I need reliability.

damn i duno where you guys are finding these things, im having a hellofa time finding just the housing for my taco, elock+abs housings are aparently in high demand for some reason???

650 is a good deal if the elocker is in good shape, especially if it already has the gears you want. I recently tore my drainplug off and ended up dumping all my oil out on the highway the Yukon master kit (4.10 ring and pinion + all bearings and seals) was $550 from Napa, just to put it in perspective.

E-lockers are awesome, they are durable and reliable, if i didnt have one id buy just the elocker/third member without gears or carrier for 650. its by far the best thing about my truck. When i fried my diff the gears were so hot the ring and pinion had begun to weld themselves together, i was worried about the locker actuator and motor being ok after that much heat exposure. They were perfectly fine and with the new gears the locker works better than it ever has

Not bad, a guy here in Spokane [ Craigslist ] want's $650.00 just for the e-locker / pumpkin combo.

I stole mine from some fellow on e-bay who didn't know what he had.

$150.00 plus $70.00 to UPS it to me.
